My "Set Card"

Bio and Expertise

My journey began with the study of human medicine, where I quickly found myself drawn into research and became fascinated by the immunology of the skin. It was during this time that I developed my first independent projects in this field, laying the foundation for what would become my scientific focus for many years to come.

I went on to specialize in dermatology, building deep expertise in chronic inflammatory skin diseases as well as allergology, while representing the full breadth of dermatology in clinical practice.

Since then, I have served as Principal Investigator on numerous scientific and clinical projects at both national and international level, taking on increasing leadership responsibility as Senior Attending Physician, Consultant, and Scientific Advisor. My work has been recognized with multiple awards, both for individual research achievements and for published scientific contributions. I regularly give talks on scientific and clinical topics, lead workshops and webinars, and run seminars on leadership and modern teaching and training methods.

For the past years, I have served as Managing Director of the Center for Skin Diseases and as Director of the Department of Dermatology and Allergology at a university hospital, leading a broad clinical and scientific portfolio.

Looking back, a few things beyond medicine have shaped who I am.

I am a visual thinker — when designing a project, I need a blank sheet of paper to structure my thoughts, a trait that has served me well in a field as visually driven as dermatology.

I am also, at heart, a structured and organized person, something that resonates deeply with the world of immunology, where everything ultimately finds its place. Sport has taught me teamwork, resilience, and endurance, while a multicultural background has given me an early openness to different perspectives.

Together with a natural curiosity and creativity, these qualities continue to shape how I see both -science and life.
